Making my plain shoes fabulous!

I love glitter!  That might be an understatement!  I am drawn to anything that glitters.  I just love glitter.  I can't help it!  I think almost everything can be improved if you add glitter.  My other love in life is shoes!  I have a vast collection!  So what could be better than shoes and glitter?  Shoes that glitter.  Alright I do have a pair of gold glittery shoes for Target that are amazing, but I've never made glittery shoes and the bottoms of the shoes aren't glittery.  That's what I set out to do last Friday afternoon.  I originally saw some shoes like this on pinterest (pinterest is quickly becoming one of my fav things right up there with shoes and glitter!).  I had the perfect pair of plain black shoes in my closet that were just begging for some extra attention so I decided to make the bottoms of them glittery that way anytime I walk somewhere I'll leave a trail of glitter.  Here's a before picture.
I had the most purple glitter so that's what I went with.  It wasn't my first choice but I didn't have enough hot pink for both shoes.  One pink shoes one purple shoe might have been a little odd even for me!
Here's the back of my shoes.
So here's how I did it:
1.  Mix the glitter with mod podge.  About 1/4 c mod podge and I just mixed the glitter in until I thought there was enough glitter.
2.  Paint the soles of the shoes.  It will look a little bit white but the mod podge dries clear so no worries!
3.  Pour some loose glitter over the still wet mod podge and kind of tap it into the soles.
4.  Let the shoes dry.
5.  Put one more coat of mod podge over the shoes to make sure to set the glitter.
6.  Let dry.
7.  Wear and be awesome!

In progress when I poured the loose glitter over the shoes.

This is after I put the final coat of mod podge.

Not a great picture but here's the final product!  I'm in love!
