Update to my desk redo

A few weeks ago I decided that I needed to redo my desk.  I wasn't ever (I do mean ever) using it as a desk, more like a big white shelf to pile junk on.  

I'm not too proud of this, but doesn't look better now?! And I'm very happy to say that I've been using it everyday now that I've made it into my vanity.  The "I can do anything with the right shoes" probably won't stay there but it's there for now.  

I decided to make the bulletin board look prettier by covering it in lace.  And I found out that not only am I a terrible cutter I can't measure either. My piece of lace didn't quite cover the bulletin board too well at first.  And I had a few bottles to use to decorate the top shelf.  I got a really pretty blue vase from hobby lobby and painted a wine bottle of my own.  

They are missing a little something I haven't figure out what it is yet.  

 My make is a little bit more organized now.

 I think my love sign is my favorite!  It was 50 % off at Hobby Lobby! (Yes!)

I also glittered all my makeup containers.  I'm a bit glitter obsessed, but that's okay.  I like them alot.  

Overall, I love what I did to my desk.   

Lovely Springtime

This spring I think I've gotten some really great shots of flowers.  My personal favorite are the ones I took in Asheville over Easter of red dogwood trees.  Before this year I didn't know there was such a thing as a red dogwood tree.  I thought there were just white ones and pink ones.  When we were driving to Asheville I kept noticing Dogwood trees that were so hot pink and I couldn't figure why the pink Dogwoods in Asheville were so much brighter and gorgeous than the ones at home.  Later my Mamaw Banks told me the really bright pink ones are red dogwood trees.  So here are a few of my favorites.

I planted basil in the garden this week.  I can't wait until I can make pesto with it! 

Cute boys should not be allowed to be photographed with cute puppies.  It's just not fair!  Look at that puppy! 

Not sure how practical it would be to have plants attached to your bike, but I love the idea.  

I love the stenciled rug.  I'm considering doing a rub for my room.  

I wish my garden looked like this!  Beautiful!

I'm about to get back to doing some chemistry in the lab.  Good one!

Last weekend I bought some Irises, maybe next spring they will be this pretty! 

Friday! Yay!

It's Friday again!  Yay, the best day of the week.  Here's my top five things from this week.
1.  I learned there are 3 kinds of Dogwood trees and by far the most beautiful ones are red Dogwoods.  I didn't know there was such a thing, but in Asheville they have Dogwoods that are like hot pink (my favorite of course!).  At first I couldn't figure out why the pink trees were so much brighter than the ones at home until my Mamaw Banks told me they are red.  Of course I had to take pictures of them.  Here are a few of my favs.  I took lots and lots.

2.  Easter in Asheville!  I got to see my cousins and share a wonderful meal with my family.  It's the first time since Christmas that we've all been together.  We dyed Easter eggs with Kola my 4 yr old cousin which was super fun!

3.  For my students in TASL I made cupcakes!  They were really cute Sunday night when I made them.  Then by Monday morning all the "handles" had broken.  They were still yummy though, rainbow chip is the best!  Hopefully the ones I made for today's TASL will stay together.

4.  Wedding fun with the bestest! This week Rachel had her last dress fitting and I had a very important part in that :) Learning to do the bustle (sp?) It's going to be soo hard, but I think I can handle it!  We also finished stuffing wedding invites!  Let me tell you they are the cutest most fun wedding invites I've seen!  They have a mad-lib, oh yes!

5.  It's baseball season!  I love the Braves.  Now that Chipper is back, we're going to do great and win the world series.

I would love to be able to do my nails like this.  I think it's much harder than it looks to use tape to make these designs.  Also it takes multiple days if you follow what they say I don't have that kind of patience! But I love these nails!

Something to think about when I'm about to waste time on the internet not doing anything productive.  These are great ideas.  

High five for Friday!

Happy Friday! Yay! And it's Good Friday so that's even better. Here's my top five for the week.

1. I got to hang out with some of the most awesome people I know last weekend! It was wonderful. I don't get to see them that often since we're all finished with UNCW and live away from each other.

2. Sue Bea (my car) had a special milestone this week! 100,000 miles. I didn't drive all those miles but was excited none the less. And I was excited because I got a picture.


3. I got a super cute new clutch from a store in downtown Wilmington,Dang. I was totally in love with all there stuff but managed to control myself and only buy the clutch.

4. Yesterday was my brothers 22nd birthday! We got the waiters at Raazoos to sing. I think he was embarrassed!

5. I've been practicing curling my hair and my hair is holding the curl pretty well! That's exciting for me because it used to fall out after like 5 minutes!

I have one extra thing to share. The conversation me and Firebaugh had while watching the kids choice awards Saturday night. We are awesome!

Pinterest Addiction

I have a total addiction to pinterest!  It's almost a problem.  Almost being the key word there :) I just love it!  I could literally spend hours and hours looking through pins and pinning the ones I like.  I also, really like it because it give me ideas on crafty things to do or yummy food I can try to cook.  So, I've decided to do a list of my favorite pins on pinterest this week.
