30x30 Challenge: Week 4

New outfits yay!  I'm linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk  again.  So I went over to my BFFL's, Christine, apartment last week and asked if we could have a photo shoot so I could get pictures of my outfits.  Her wonderful boyfriend, Adam, agreed to take the picture so here's my shout out to him.  Thanks Adam!  I also had to change some of my items.  One shirt apparently shrank because when I put it on it was a half shirt!  Totally not attractive haha!  I also turned out to be allergic to one of my necklace so I replace it with the necklace in the first picture.  Next week I'll have the shirt I switched out.

I hope you've had a great week!  Mine has been pretty good here's a few of the highlights for my high five for Friday!  

1.  Check out those tomatoes!  We have so many from the garden we're giving them away.  Mmmm they are yummy!

2.  I think I've finally made friends with that cat that has decided to live here.  I named her Shade and he kitten Smoke.  They are too cute!  However, they are not very tame, but I'm winning them over.  Shade lets me pet her without growling at me anymore.  I didn't know cats growl, but it turns out they do.  She's apparently also been making friends with Sue Bea my car.  I found these this morning.  

3.  I learned how to cross stitch on Sunday and I finished my little penguin guy last night.  I think he's cute.  

4.  Did some chemistry this week.  The experiments aren't really making any sense at the moment but I had a color change so I took a picture! 

5. Last but most definitely not least tonight I get to hang out with my BFFL!  Yay!  Yeah we're cool!

I hope you're having a great Friday!  This week has been a bit stressful, but with all good things.  So here's my High Five for Friday!
1.  This week was the last week of me teaching Chem 1203 lab!  Yay!  I had a great bunch of students, but that lab is not my favorite.  We celebrated today by having cupcakes.  Yes, I am the TA that brought my students cupcakes.  Hey I really just wanted an excuse to buy cupcakes from my bestfriend's bakery, Sweetcakes :)
2.  I gave my demo lecture for a teaching position this week!  It could have gone better, but I'm glad it's over and I didn't do too terrible! I'm ready to get better and start teaching my own lecture section in the fall!
3.  I learned how to use the grill!  Oh yes!
4.  I've made some super awesome crafting projects for my new vanity.  The are the best kind of craft projects one's that include glitter!
5.  Speaking of glitter, I personalized my garden hoe so that no one could confuse it for there.  I did paint glitter all over it.  Just because gardening is outside doesn't mean it doesn't need glitter.

Friday at last!

I love Friday!  This week has been kind of crazy!  Crazy is a great way!
First, Saturday my bestest friend in the whole wide world got married!
Crazy!
I kind of can't believe she finally got married and now she's Mrs. Smith!  The wedding was perfect!  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful, amazing, truly great best friend, and get to stand right beside her as she married Brad.
So amazing!
This is a picture of my hair for the day (not a great one but better than the others I took).  I did it myself and I have to say I was impressed.  I watch a tutorial from The Small Things blog and I practiced a few times before the wedding.  I love Kate's blog, you can find the tutorial here.

I've been thinking of re-purposing by desk into something I might actually use.  Clearly I don't do any work at it now since it's just piled up with lots and lots of stuff (okay junk).  So I want to make it a vanity.  I'm really excited about this idea.  I'll post again once I've finished it.  

This week I ate some of the first tomatoes out of the garden.  I'm pretty sure there is NOTHING better than a tomato right out of the garden.  Our plants are full of tomatoes, so even though these were the first they won't be the last.  Me and my dad also planted our plot the church that we're growing for the Cooperative Christian Ministries.  While I excited about the garden at the house, I'm even more excited about this because we're going to give the vegetables we grow there to people who really need it.  How great is that!  

Rachel made these cute "redneck" wine glasses for the bridal party at the wedding.  I've been using my ever since.  I'm totally in love with it.  This is my cherry coke slushy. 

Normally I've been posting my new shoes here and they are normally super high heels, but this week I got some desperatly needed new rainbows.  My old ones were about to fall apart.  I really like there because of the braided strap.  Also, there's my new tattoo!  I'm in love with it.

Wedding time!

So my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Rachel, is getting married.  And it's coming up so soon!  I'm so excited for her and Brad.  They are just the sweetest couple ever.  I love them!  Sunday some ladies from the church and myself had a bridal shower for Rachel and I wanted to share a few pictures from the day.  I'm also getting super excited because my bridesmaid dress came in this weekend too!  And Friday we're going down to Oak Island to celebrate Rachel!  More on that later, I'm sure. 
Jody had the cutest idea for some decorations at the shower.  She saw on Pinterest (of course!) a girl who for her boyfriend birthday put pictures of them on balloons.  So Jody did that with Rachel and Brad's engagement pictures!  So cute!

Jody also made like the best cupcakes ever!  I think she called them "old fashion" cupcakes.  They were amazing and had almond icing.  Yum!  Yum!

I got Brad to share some things he loves about the bride and I wrote those on a piece of canvas.  I was so excited about that because it was super secret :)  I made me happy to see Rachel read those.

Friday Friday Friday!

I'm so glad it's Friday! Here's my High Five for Friday!

1.  Today is my last day of Friday TASL!  I know my students are going to be super excited it's our last workshop because that means they are almost done with chemistry!  I've had a great bunch of students this semester who really worked hard.  Yay Chemistry!
2.  Wedding crafts!  I took home some homework for my best friend's wedding!  Wrapping bottles in yard.  Hopefully getting creative this weekend.
3.  I'm getting my hair done today!  I need it my roots are crazy!  And Kandi is the best :)
4.  The garden weathered cold snap pretty well.  I'm hopeful we'll get some more veggies planted this weekend.
5.  The Rachael Ray 30 minute meal I cooked this week would have actually taken me 30 minutes (which never happens for me) if I hadn't had to make a second trip to the grocery store.  Spinach pasta with asparagus pesto. It was yummy and green!

High Five for Friday!

1. Got the invite to the best friends wedding! It's amazing! Rachel is the best! And Brad too!

2. Wednesday we had rain which was great! We really needed it. And it gave me the chance to use my cute umbrella and rainboots.

3. I do love a poof!

4. Me and my dad got the garden planted this week. We planted watermelon radishes, basil, arugula, peppers, and tomatoes so far.

5. New shoes! I love them.

Friday! Yay!

It's Friday again!  Yay, the best day of the week.  Here's my top five things from this week.
1.  I learned there are 3 kinds of Dogwood trees and by far the most beautiful ones are red Dogwoods.  I didn't know there was such a thing, but in Asheville they have Dogwoods that are like hot pink (my favorite of course!).  At first I couldn't figure out why the pink trees were so much brighter than the ones at home until my Mamaw Banks told me they are red.  Of course I had to take pictures of them.  Here are a few of my favs.  I took lots and lots.

2.  Easter in Asheville!  I got to see my cousins and share a wonderful meal with my family.  It's the first time since Christmas that we've all been together.  We dyed Easter eggs with Kola my 4 yr old cousin which was super fun!

3.  For my students in TASL I made cupcakes!  They were really cute Sunday night when I made them.  Then by Monday morning all the "handles" had broken.  They were still yummy though, rainbow chip is the best!  Hopefully the ones I made for today's TASL will stay together.

4.  Wedding fun with the bestest! This week Rachel had her last dress fitting and I had a very important part in that :) Learning to do the bustle (sp?) It's going to be soo hard, but I think I can handle it!  We also finished stuffing wedding invites!  Let me tell you they are the cutest most fun wedding invites I've seen!  They have a mad-lib, oh yes!

5.  It's baseball season!  I love the Braves.  Now that Chipper is back, we're going to do great and win the world series.

High five for Friday!

Happy Friday! Yay! And it's Good Friday so that's even better. Here's my top five for the week.

1. I got to hang out with some of the most awesome people I know last weekend! It was wonderful. I don't get to see them that often since we're all finished with UNCW and live away from each other.

2. Sue Bea (my car) had a special milestone this week! 100,000 miles. I didn't drive all those miles but was excited none the less. And I was excited because I got a picture.


3. I got a super cute new clutch from a store in downtown Wilmington,Dang. I was totally in love with all there stuff but managed to control myself and only buy the clutch.

4. Yesterday was my brothers 22nd birthday! We got the waiters at Raazoos to sing. I think he was embarrassed!

5. I've been practicing curling my hair and my hair is holding the curl pretty well! That's exciting for me because it used to fall out after like 5 minutes!

I have one extra thing to share. The conversation me and Firebaugh had while watching the kids choice awards Saturday night. We are awesome!
